Day 1
Started the day by completely rethinking everything and deciding to get another domain to be the umbrella for any other sites we make because we went from just stickers to making everything there is. Seemed like a good idea. We then researched tools needed to begin the new online business
Then, to make this a legit business, we decided to get a separate phone number. Thanks to e-sims in iPhones, we were able to just add a line to our account for $20/month. It’s possible this is tax deductible, is that a thing? We will see! We also stopped by the UPS store to investigate using them for mailbox services so we can have a return address if we ship stuff ourselves.
Day 2
Big day today, registered the Instagram account, had to put in a million bits of information including a selfie holding up a piece of paper? Who knew?! Then signed up for a ChatGPT to help with marketing and writing anything we need. Next, we registered a MidJourney account, which requires a Discord account, which requires a verified account which requires a phone number. Good thing we already had that! Then spent an hour or so figuring out what Discord was and how to make sure we didn’t get people randomly stopping by to drop some memes. Also, signed up for Google account and bought $19.99/year plan for extra storage and backups.
Day 3
Decided to focus on all POD products from Printify and Shopify. Started learning how to use MidJourney to generate some images. Used Canva Free to make some various images. Waiting to get Shopify until we have 10 products and descriptions ready to go on Printify.
Day 4
So far, everything has gone according to plan, what could go wrong? Turns out Instagram didn’t like something about our account and disabled it. We submitted the photo they wanted and it was immediately disabled for good. Yikes! And, of course, you cannot actually just contact Instagram, so we responded to the email and got no response. So, we tabled that for the day and assumed Instagram would magically fix it. (Spoiler Alert: THEY DIDN’T.)
